Strategies to Win at 3 Card Poker
Everyone knows the old phrase: “practice makes perfect.” This old adage applies in almost any situation and to almost any game; no matter how much you may want to win something, you likely will not win unless you work at it. This applies equally to certain casino games: though almost everyone thinks that most casino games are games of chance, this is not entirely true. It is possible to increase your chances of winning some of these games through an understanding of some basic strategies. This is especially true for variations of Poker and 3 Card Poker is one of them.
Basic Strategy for 3-Card Poker
3-Card Poker actually comprises two different games: Pair Plus and Ante and Play. In Pair Plus, you will simply match your hand with pre-determined winning combinations posted on the Poker table, whereas in Ante and Play, you are playing against the dealer for the best hand. Whether you choose to play either of these games – or both – in one round is entirely your decision. If you choose to play both, however, your chances of winning may be higher. For example, if you have a pair of 4s and the dealer has a pair of 7s, then you will win Pair Plus, as you have a pair; however, at the same time, the dealer’s pair is higher than yours and therefore you will lose Ante and Play. If you play both games together, in other words, you stand a better chance of winning at least one – or perhaps both.
At the same time, if you choose to play both Ante and Play and Pair Plus, and your hand is three-of-a-kind, your chances of winning at 3 Card Poker are even higher. The payout in the Pair Plus game will be no less than 30:1 while in Ante and Play, you can win both your ante bet and your play bet. In other words, in either game you would likely win big, but if you put them together, you will probably win even bigger. And who doesn’t want that?
